Safeguarding

The ECB is very clear that cricket should be a game for everyone. Children are the future of our sport – so it’s vital that they experience cricket in a safe, friendly, secure and enjoyable environment.

Spencer follows safer recruitment guidance to ensure all staff and volunteers in cricket are suitable for their role, appropriately vetted and supported by the club.

All organisations working with children have safeguarding responsibilities and clear requirements placed upon them by legislation which exists to ensure safer recruitment practices are followed, including Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks for all our coaches and volunteers in regulated activity.

Our senior coaches are all minimum ECB Level 2/Core Coach qualified and required to hold current First Aid and Safeguarding compliant certificates, whilst many of our volunteer coaches are also ECB L2/Core Coach, ECB Foundation Coach or ECB Support Coach qualified.

These are our Safeguarding Policies.

Should you have any concerns regarding welfare, safeguarding or any other protection issue, do please immediately contact one of our safeguarding officers whose details are provided here.
